Wonder of Wonders Ministries

Our History

Mission Statement

We believe we must glorify God through worship, evangelize to the lost, focus on the growth of faith and fellowship among our congregation, and minister to our community.

We believe in the trinity of the Father, his Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit and the only way to heaven is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Pastor, Doug Miller

Born and raised in southern Ohio, Doug has been involved in ministry most of his life.  He and his wife, Pat, have traveled the world through various ministries and have served in every area of a church for almost 40 years. His motto for our church is "We want everyone to make it to heaven."  Through his vast understanding of God's word and his love for people, WOW Ministries is honored to have him as the Shepherd of our flock.

The W.O.W. church building is a former United Methodist Church that was built in 1921. It served as a beacon to the community of Waterloo, Ohio, until 2011 when the organization closed it down.  The building set empty until 2016 when what is now the current board members pursued the purchase of it.  Once an offer was accepted by the Methodist organization, the board members immediately opened the doors to the community and through love gifts and donations, the building was paid for in full by the time the first service began. It is named WOW Ministries as the acronym stands for Wonder of Wonders. The church was built prior to the Waterloo High School which sat behind the church property.  The high school is well celebrated when their 1934 & 1935 boys basketball teams, and the 1935 women's basketball teams won the state championships. While the schoolhouse is no longer standing, our church celebrates its achievements and impact with a community memorial garden in the church yard. Many people who attended the high school also attended the church and were saved, baptized, or married there as well. WOW Ministries founding members are Doug and Pat Miller, Amber Miller, Shirley Miller, Linda Carpenter, Jonda Carpenter, Derek and Amanda Carpenter.

About

WOW is a non-denominational church that believes in the trinity of God the Father, the Son, His son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that to get to heaven a person must be born again by asking for forgiveness of sin through faith in Jesus Christ.
